Jack Entertainment names new senior vice president for Detroit casino - Crain's Detroit Business

Chad Barnhill, former senior vice president and general manager of Jack Cincinnati Casino, is taking on a new role that — pending regulatory approval — will include overseeing the Greektown Casino-Hotel, Jack communications manager Samantha Chyette said. But he won't replace Jason Gregorec, who will continue as general manager of the Greektown property.

The Detroit property's name will change to Jack Detroit Casino-Hotel on May 1. Before then, it is undergoing millions of dollars in renovation work and sign changes.

Detroit-based Jack Entertainment, formerly Rock Gaming LLC, purchased Greektown in 2013. The company is part of Dan Gilbert's Rock Ventures LLC.

Barnhill's new title is senior vice president of regional operations for Jack Entertainment, according to a news release. In his new role he'll also oversee Turfway Park, a thoroughbred track in Kentucky, where he lives. Barnhill, 45, will also continue to manage — and work out of — the Cincinnati casino. He joined Jack in 2012.

Three other members of Jack's leadership were promoted, effective immediately, according to the release:

• Brian Eby, former senior vice president of operations and chief innovation officer, has been promoted to executive vice president of corporate operations and chief innovation officer. Eby has been with Jack since 2014. In the new role, he oversees departments including human resources, IT, innovation, gaming and food and beverage.
• Darlene Monzo, former senior vice president and chief marketing officer, is now executive vice president and chief marketing officer. In her new role Monzo, who has been with Jack since 2015, will add corporate communications, public relations and social media to her list of responsibilities.
• Glen Tomaszewski, former senior vice president and CFO, will now act as executive vice president and CFO after joining the company's corporate office in 2015. He oversees accounting, financial planning and analysis, and investor relations.

"As we continue JACK Entertainment's operational momentum since our launch, we also want to recognize the significant contributions of the strong leaders who have carried us forward in what has been a transformational year for our company," Mark Dunkeson, president and COO, said in the release.

This year the company renovated the St. Mary's School in Greektown at 580 Monroe Ave. for its new headquarters, which is connected to the Greektown casino via a pedestrian skywalk. It moved in with 140 staff in December. It also celebrated operating its Ohio properties for a year, Chyette said.

In addition to the Detroit and Cincinnati casinos and the Kentucky track, Jack operates Jack Cleveland Casino and Jack Thistledown Racino, a thoroughbred racetrack facility near Cleveland.
